Default Tyre pressure sensors - how to activate new?

Hi all,

Buying an extra set of wheels for winter. I have pressure sensors on the summer wheels and thought I should buy 4 extra for the new wheels.

Anyone knows how to register them with the car's system?

(Had an other car of an other brand and every time I shifted to winter wheels I had to take it to the garage to activate the sensors, and vice versa in the spring. Very annoying)

The F-Type uses the same system as the X351 so you just need to swap them over and the system will redetect once you have driven for 15 mins at at least 12mph. The antenna/initiators for each wheel are located in the corresponding wheel arch with a very short detection range so as long as it can see the sensor it knows which corner it is reading from.

From the workshop manual:

The TPMS software can automatically detect, under all operating conditions, the following:
•one or more new tire pressure sensors have been fitted
•one or more tire pressure sensors have stopped transmitting
•two 'running' wheels on the vehicle have changed positions.

The tire learn and location process is ready to commence when the vehicle has been stationary or traveling at less than 5 km/h for 15 minutes. The learn/locate process requires the vehicle to be driven at speeds of more than 12 mph (20 km/h) for 15 minutes. If the vehicle speed reduces to below 12 mph (20 km/h), the learn process timer is suspended until the vehicle speed increases to more than 12 mph (20 km/h), after which time the timer is resumed. If the vehicle speed remains below 12 mph (20 km/h) for more than 15 minutes, the timer is set to zero and process starts again.

Make sure you get the right frequency TPMS sensors, based on your model year and VIN.

I purchased after market rims, tires and tire pressure sensors earlier this summer. It took approximately 50 miles of driving before they finally synched. I did not need to go to a tire shop.

60 miles now with Blizzak LM32 and not synch'ing despite a 30 minute continuous drive on the highway today. TPMS monitors are OEM from England. I did note that my tires were underinflated at 32 psi though not sure why this would prevent the electrics from synchronizing. Corrected that this evening.
Give more time? Hassle the merchant? other?

I had the same problem last week. (Also bought the 1/3 price OEM sensor from the UK.) Your tire shop should have a handheld tpms programmer that will use wifi to read the codes at each of the 4 wheels separately. They then plug the handheld unit into the OBDII port to program those 4 codes into the car. Then you have to drive the car for a total of at least 15 minutes over 15 mph. These do not have to be consecutive minutes, but you can't stop your journey or turn the car off for more than 15 minutes, otherwise you have to start the synching drive all over again (the programming is still good).

I had no problems after the initial synching. Then I got a low pressure warning. I inflated all the tires to 36 psi. Ever since then the sensors have not been able to synch. No local tire shop has the F-type in the electronic TPMS tool. I don't want to go to my dealer as they are 40 miles away. I live in Mt. Sinai, NY. Anyone know of a tire shop that could help me? Thanks in advance.
