up the napa valley today
taking the j car up the napa valley for lunch. clear sky warm weather and smooth rds what more could i ask for, oh wait i could have the tune vivid r never sent me . life good !
My preliminary plan is pretty simple. I have a large driveway and live off Auburn-Folsom. Every weekend I hear exotic cars heading off for a drive up the hill. I can make my house a base of operation for several different things:
- Cars and Coffee
- Euro Sunday
- Destination Drive
- Chill BBQ at my house
I'm fairly open. I a big fan of Napa and some of the backroads to get there, but there's no getting around the first 20-30 of freeway on that one. Napa days can get pricey real quick and covid restrictions are making it hard to set up large groups.
Amador has more options. Poor Red's is one of my favorite little places, but not much in the way of parking.

It's changed a bit in the last few years. The old menu on the wall is gone and it's a full restaurant. The barn parking is now a part of the restaurant, too (I darn near drove into it). The bar itself is timeless. It looks exactly the same and the same drinks as well as some of the bonuses. If you pay in cash, you still get change in $1 coins.
