Default V6 Engine number location.

Is it possible to the engine number without dismantling or having to use a car lift? How could you get a photo of it?

If it's the original engine the number may be on the registration. It is on mine, but you're half a world away. The service manual says "The serial number is stamped on an engine web on the left-hand side
of the cylinder block behind the engine mounting" but I don't see a picture of exactly where.

The registration card says my engine number is “NIL”! I’m pretty sure there was one there when I last checked.

My handbook just says below the right side engine rocker cover, but that is completely hidden by pipes etc. I’d hate to dismantle half the engine to discover it was somewhere else.

This is in the AJ133 (V8) training doc, but I can’t imagine the V6 would be different.

I found the right side engine serial number plate attached to the cam cover. The engine block one was a bit more difficult. In fact without a side facing endoscope it would have been impossible to find. The engine block one though is important for verification for customs import.

It was at the rear left corner of the engine block.
Endoscope was dropped through this notch from above.

Default Engine number format?

Just to be clear, is the engine serial number that goes in registration documents, an 11 digit number?
