As soon as I get back from my business trip in D.C. I am going to make a recording with the exhaust pre 200-cell cats and after and (open/close). I have decided to put on the 200-cells, the sound quality is super good, but I can use some more volume.

Sorry for the bad audio quality, going to do re-do the shot with an external mic once it arrives from Amazon.

Quick night recording with better audio. Could be better, still working on getting the right audio setup, but this is a big improvement over using the GoPro. Valves closed at 9:00

Has the same character as the oem, but sounds mellower, maybe smoother?

+1. More resonant than the OEM. Sounds almost as good as the V6 , but with a lower note.

+2. Yes it still sounds like an F-Type but more smooth and refined. The best way I can explain it, is the sound is more rounded and less sharp. More harmony with all the sounds being produced.

This week I will be putting back on the 200-cells and hopefully it doesn't get too crazy. I'll take sound clips. Hopefully the mic can handle.

It's going to be pretty seriously loud with 200 cells and the valves open!

I saw you the other day driving on the freeway. I was in the blue Kia van. lol

Glad too see another modded Jag in the Bay Area! I have a XJL SC with a pulley, tune, x-pipe, and exhaust. I'm currently looking into the F Type R AWD in the near future! -Johncy

Woohoo, A fellow Jaguar friend in the Bay! The R is awesome and unfortunately for me, but awesome for you. the car depreciates quickly. I am sure you will be in the F-Type in no time. I am curious, where did you get your Pulley installed? I am looking for a reputable place to install my upper and lower pulley.

I had my upper pulley replaced at Elite Auto Films in San Jose. Talk to Goshan and tell him Johncy sent you. As for the lower pulley, I have yet to find a shop that can do that. I believe Jaguar of Oakland is a Velocity AP dealer. I'm thinking about contacting them for my future mods. Btw, you go to any car meets around the Bay? -Johncy

Lot of car for the money right now. I have yet to try a modded Jag with the new 8 speed ZF.

The lower pulley is far easier to do than the upper pulley. Any indy could do it.

Isn't the lower pulley the crankshaft pulley? I've had bad experiences replacing the crank pulley in my old E55. It flew off. If the pulley is under drive, it will cause all the other pullies to spin faster thus wearing out fast moving components like the torsion isolater I already had replaced as well as the whole blower assembly. I just want to see if the lower pulley will affect reliability in the long run.

The lower pulley is the crankshaft pulley, and it is much too early to tell if this will cause any long term reliability issues; though none have been reported thus far. This would result in the idler pulley and tensioner pulley spinning faster, but it is not too extreme relative to other setups like the Z06 which I believe has a smaller blower that is overspun much faster than ours. This is the risk you take when modifying.

I have a hard time believing that under normal driving conditions that spinning faster would shorten the lifetime. Normal being non-race. All that happens is that the accessories spin faster than normal perhaps being akin to driving in 7th all the time on the highway instead of 8th. That said, Jag will no doubt deny a warranty claim for any accessories driven by the wrong size crank pulley.

The accessories aren't driven by the supercharger crank pulley so they would be unaffected.

The upper pulley alone caused my torsion isolated to go bad. Can imagine with both pullies.

Could be, but also could be happenstance.

+1. The crank has two pulleys. The SC pulley is mounted to the face of the accessory pulley. Nothing other than the SC is overdriven by the new lower SC pulley.

What the hell is a torsion isolator (isolated)?
