Mr. Dickinson,
What is the weak point of the 5.0 block? Was it designed to push 3.5 psi more over 50 000km example ? What is the operating RPM range of the TVS1900 and does the crank pulley push it at the upper limit of its range?
Thank you,

Once you get much beyond 700BHP they start blowing head gaskets. 660BHP with 5psi more boost is comfortable. The internals are good. I'm not sure on the SC numbers, Chris has done the math but a dual pulley setup isn't way out of range.

I've had the VAP tune along with the crank pulley on my V8 for the past 50,000km (in total, my engines got 120,000km on it now). I've had 0 issues, just a few rogue MAF sensors which are unrelated.

I drive 150kms per day yet I'm going to get the upper pulley installed now as well. Suffice to say that I've been very happy with the reliability.

Ss23, did you change the plugs as well? I installed a tune this year and I'm thinking about the crank pulley in the fall. Wondering if plugs are a must?

I installed the plugs with the pulley although that was precautionary because I live in a hot climate. I've seen others with the crank/both pulleys who've had no issues so I don't think it's necessarily required. But at the cost of the new plugs and replacing the old ones, why not?

After the installation of both pulleys and tune with full exhaust, is there any additional items I should consider for longevity of the motor? Additional better cooling parts, etc...

Thanks for long research on this motor. I like it, except for the plastic bits. And who's the genius that thought of putting plastic and cheap o rings under and inside inside of the blower?

How long does it usually take for you to get your revised file from Velocity? It said 1-2 days but haven’t heard anything? Thanks in advance!

Chris,
There's a very funny skit about society wanting things NOW, ''Ronnie Chieng, Asian comedian destroys america" on Netflix. If you didn't already watch it...

With it I get the tuner box and map file. Next year I get the pulley and pay $1995. With it I get the pulley... and another pricey tuner box. See where I’m going with this?
I think I missed this one, but just wanted to clarify. If you purchase the tune, that's $995. If you purchase the pulley and tune, that's $1939. If you purchase a crank pulley on it's own and already have a tune, the crank pulley + belt is $949, and we retune your ecu for free. Same for downpipes, same for upper pulley (on the 5.0L.) Basically, as long as you're buying our products from us or one of our dealers we will continue to update your tune for you for free. What we don't do for free is adjust your tune if you bought a competitor's product. Think that's pretty fair. A lot of companies say in the Audi world have a model that they charge you for a base tune and then nickel & dime you for all the add-ons to the tune so if you want a 'Stage Whatever' file you pay more for that than the base tune, in addition to the hardware you purchase to get to that stage.

We chose to take the route that once you've bought the tune, we've got you covered for integrating any VAP products you choose to add going forward. So you only pay once for the tune, and don't pay an extra $100 for this or $200 for that to update it.

Heres some pics of the carbon fiber wrapped plastic water pipe and AN steam vent lines. I also changed the plugs when the blower was off. Added a new snout as well as the isolator was sloppy after 50K miles.

Car pulls a lot faster. The tune feels a bit stop and go through the lower power band, but when I floor it in S or D it ramps pretty fast. I'm happy with the changes. Had after thought of making a billet aluminum insert pice for the valley hoses to connect 12 AN hoses for cooling and fully getting away from all the plastics. AN lines for the blower piping as well toadditional coolers and pump to bring temps down. Will be doing this this fall and winter more than likely. Then thinking about E85.

Check with VAP. They can smooth out that uneven throttle response on partial throttle.
