Default Vert rattle with hood up.

I am noticing that on sharp bumps I get a rattle from somehwere behind my head in the hood compartment with the hood up.

Difficult to get the dead around to try and see what might be causing it. anyone any idea what it might be?

Do I assume correctly that you are talking about the rag top rather than the bonnet?

Is it a clunk? There were many complaints about suspension clunks at low speed on early cars. There are old threads about it.

I think I get a few of those as well, but no this is clearly inside the cabin behind the head when the top is up.

Andrew,

Have not ever heard anything similar in my convertible. Perhaps something is loose somewhere in the top raising/lowering hardware.

I think if you remove the wind deflector (if you have one) and partially raise the roof, you may be able to look or reach into that area.

Yes, good idea. If it's a rattle, it could be as simple as a loose wire bundle, which can be eliminated with a zip tie or two.

I get a sound but that is because I have my seat too far back and the back of the seat is hitting the plastic behind it when I am pushing stepping on it or car is bouncing.
