I'm having red on black F-Type stickers made to cover the hideous airbag warning stickers on the sun visors. (They can't be removed without leaving ugly marks.)

It would be easier to apply the new stickers if I could remove the visors, but I see no screws or access.

Does anyone know if there's an easy procedure for removing the visors without banging them up?

 

Goof-off (xylene)cleanly took off the stickers on my BMW visors. It just dissolved the sticker with lots of elbow grease.

 

Just pull of the side clips covering the screws. Then take screws out The clips may break though

 

F-type has visors? Where?

Oh you mean these tiny flaps near the roof?

Long gone. But it removed every speck of the sticker without any effect on the vinyl.

 

I think the key word here "vinyl".
AFAICT all F-Type visors are some type of cloth or material (does the extended leather pack include the visors???) and I have a feeling that xylene would not play nice with them.

 

If you have a lot of patience and a steam cleaner, give that a try. A friend of mine has done that on a number of cars successfully. Again key word patience...

 

I have extended leather with ivory header and the label side of the mirror is the same leather. I would try it on some hidden area of leather first.

Thanks to Frenchy for raising this topic, it inspired me to do some research coz I loathe & detest those moronic airbag stickers.
The key ingredient, at least for my fabric (Morzine?) visors, was isopropyl alcohol.
I decided to remove the offending sun visor from the car rather than try it in situ, and this turned out to be one of my rare good decisions, as it would have been very difficult, messy and time consuming if I hadn't, especially seeing as there are two stickers to remove, one on each side.
Step 1 - unclip the plastic covers from the sun visor mounts. It's not at all tight, hard, brittle or difficult, a gentle lever with a trim removal tool and they pop off real easy.
Step 2 - remove the two mounting screws - T20 Torx standard six point - one at each end of the visor.
Step 3 - manoeuvre the two ends of the visor out. Push them all the way back towards the windscreen the tilt them down. A bit of a PITA but keep trying and you will get there.
Step 4 - take the visor to your workbench.
Step 5 - apply a generous coat of isopropyl alcohol to the first sticker, and let it sit for a minute or so. Then apply another coat. I had a little pump/spray bottle, but if you have a big ordinary bottle than rub it on with a soft rag.
Step 6 - attack the edge of the sticker with your thumbnail and/or a small trim removal tool. If you can, try to get a bit of the edge to stick up, then grab it and very slowly peel. I had limited success with peeling, I got most of the stickers off by just scraping away with the trim removal tool. Regularly apply more isopropyl alcohol.
Step 7 - once all the sticker has been removed you will probably have a little bit of glue residue left, especially along the edges of where the sticker was. Apply some more iso then rub like crazy with a soft cloth (I used a MF cleaning cloth).
Step 8 - turn the visor over, repeat and rinse.
Step 9 - refit the visor. I thought it would be a real PITA to clip the mounts back into their little brackets, as the brackets are quite loose and move around and they were not that easy to disconnect, but it went a lot easier than I thought.
Step 10 - enjoy your nice sticker-free visor!

Yep, a pesky sticker on each side of the passenger visor!

It's not perfect, you can still see where the stickers were, but in normal daylight it's barely visible and at night it's pretty much invisible.

I covered mine with flat black gaffer's tape. Works fine.

 

I know this is an old thread but I thought I'd save future owners some time. I was able to literally peel the entire label off intact by using 3M Adhesive Remover spray and liberally spraying it on and around the edges of the sticker. I then got a corner of the sticker up and peeled it slowly and cleanly off. I then sprayed the area with water til it was saturated to get the 3M off and then dried with a paper towel and a heat gun after I got the majority of the water out. Picture for proof:

Why not just cover the sticker with one of these?

 

Extended leather includes sun visors so I would be carefull

 

+1. That decal appears to be thermally bonded to the leather. I suspect trying to remove that label would cause serious damage to the leather.
