Default Weak HomeLink Signal

We live in a gated community as such, I have programmed my HomeLink to open the gate, as well as garage doors. We also have a Range Rover which has been programmed to perform the same functions. The F Type (2017 R) has an incredibly weak signal while the Range Rover is wicked strong! Has anyone else noticed that their F Type HomeLink is a bit on the weak side?

Yes. My handheld remote is effective to twice the distance of the mirror button.

Our garage opener picks up my R 3 car lengths from driveway, while my wife's Mercedes must be within 1 car length away before it pickups. This R is as effective & sensitive as my previous C7 Vette.

Is there a fix for this to make the signal stronger?

I know this is an old thread but I'm having the same problem. I use one of the buttons for the garage door and it's fine but we have a gate too and it REALLY is hit and miss opening that. I've tried switching the assigned buttons, hoping it mattered, but it didn't.

Is there any way to amplify the signal strength? Thanks

Short answer: No.
Long answer: Yes, but it means buying/pairing a "repeater" if the signal itself can't be tapped into. That, or replace whatever module is the transmitter, hoping that that's all it does. Neither of these are likely easy or cheap.

My 2021 F Type Homelink signal seems to be very powerful, I can press the mirror button from as much as 50 yards away and see the garage door start to open. It might even work from a longer distance but I haven't tried it. I also had Homelink in my Nissan 370Z and Infiniti G35 Coupe and those only worked in fairly close proximity to my garage but that was a different house and a different make & model garage door opener.

I wonder if the issue is more with the gate or door opener than the Homelink ? It could be that the antenna on the gate isn't a very good one. You will notice that the "antenna" on most garage door openers is just a piece of wire about a foot long, and it needs to be uncoiled and hang down a bit for best reception.
