Weird noise
Hi all,
I have this weird screech, potentially air noise when I give it a lot of throttle. It kicks in like a switch at just below 2000rpm and stays throughout the rest of the rev range.
Only happens when I give it a LOT of throttle.
Doesn't matter what driving mode I'm in.
Car is V8, 2017.
I have the symposer blanked, thinking it could be that. I even disconnected the symposer hose to the cabin and left it flapping about in the engine bay whilst I tested, didn't make a difference. Sounds like it is coming from behind the dash.
Please listen to this video, it isn't perfect, phone is resting on centre speaker. Plenty of wind and tyre noise I know! But you'll hear a screeching noise come and go, that is linked to me giving it lots of gas. It sounds to me like escaping air. No EML's, no running problems.
Any help would be appreciated!

I was thinking it could be a failed exhaust baffle as that's what my trusted indy said. I get a little bit of that sound from 2K-2.3K RPMs in 4th gear but it goes away after that. It does sound as if it's coming from behind the dash in my case but it no longer bothers me.
@Jimmyrn85 Open the hood and get some recordings of the engine by the firewall/symposer with someone revving the engine.
Also see if dynamic mode changes the sound with the exhaust valves open.
How is the symposer capped off at the firewall and at the unit?
