I live in Tiburon California, so there's about 10 f types I see regularly, and even regardless of the Ferrari dealership near me, I see Ferraris, and Lamborghinis, and Bentleys, almost more often than a Mazda. Definitely daily, so I'm not deprived of beautiful artwork when it comes to vehicles.
Not a joke, and I'm never caught off guard, but I saw this Aston Martin yesterday and I have to say it's the first car I've seen in over a decade that made me pause.
Yes the dbs superleggara is my dream car at the moment although it is a distant dream, over here it would cost around $600K to get one on the road. Saw a white one a few days ago, very nice.
I dont think it puts the f Type to shame by any means, but it dials it up a notch.
Looks a lot like the f type in front but it looks like a camaro from the side and a panamera from behind. Nothing wrong with those cars either. Just my first glance opinion its a f typanamaro
I think the rounded back end spoils it, the F-Type's *** is much nicer ....
I never want to be overly critical so that I don’t appear to be a hater, but I agree about the weak rear end - it just kind of looks unfinished. I love Ferrari’s but those with long noses detract from the overall look - the super fast and berlinetta have a short span from the front tire to the edge of the bumper and it’s looks proportionate and complete. I’ve seen a few new cars, not just sports cars, that have rounded rear ends that just kind of never end - kind of like how I prefer the new f-type side skirts as opposed to the rounded sides without the skirts. I hate that they pick dirt and grass etc like a shelf, but they make the side look finished, random rambling, but I agree that the Aston is beautiful but I’m not feeling the rear bumper.
The tiny bit of scalloping that cuts into the front edge of the door really bothers me. I think one of the things about the F-Type that a lot of people don't notice but really contribute to the cleanness of the design is how each line deliberately flows into something else. For example, in the original F-Type design with the two vertical slats you can trace a line from between the two slats through the crease in the headlight housing (which lines up with the LED driving light) up the shoulder of the car all the way to the back corner. Likewise with how the taillight is sculpted - the top edge flows straight into the panel seam between the rear bumper and the fender, and the bottom edge lines up with the waistline extending from the front clamshell.
It does look much better in this deep red but still, for $365,000 more or less, you would think the Vancouver dealership could wash the black brake dust off the wheels.
I just can't get beyond this desire for black wheels - they do nothing for the design of this or any other vehicle to my eye. I accept that taste is a personal thing.

It looks like a modern interpretation of an XKR X150, and in addition to the "weak" rear end, I don't like the black trim on the sail panel behind the door. It adds busyness to the roofline coming down to the rear and an unneeded seam. It's still miles ahead of the new Vantage generation.
