I searched for this thread on this forum to no avail, so I decided to start one myself as it is a very popular thread on the E-Type forums I visit.
Today, I used a clay bar to thoroughly clean my new to me 2018 F-Type R. Then I applied a ceramic spray that you apply wet with a microfiber towel, then wipe dry with another microfiber towel. After the clay bar treatment, the paint was smooth as glass, unlike how it was beforehand. After the ceramic spray treatment, it is exceptionally slippery, a dry microfiber towel just slips right off the hood/bonnet.
Finally got my VIN verification and SMOG done to get it registered from TX to CA. On the way back I happened to spot my buddies dad with an Alpha Stelvio Quadrifoglio and had a nice little drag. It was rolling start so I "won" at 70 MPH =D

Have you checked the light in the hazard switch goes out about 10 minutes after you've locked the car? If it doesn't you may need to do the battery reset procedure to avoid running the battery flat.

#1 - yeah **** +1
#2 - sounds like you and anyone else is ok. That's the best news.
#3 - care to elaborate on the guardrail and how it came to scrape your car?
#4 - let us all know how the process of getting it repaired goes. I have no plan of replicating your event, but then again I assume you had no intention of ruining a perfectly good guardrail......

I'm doing just fine, sans bruised car and ego. Thank you!
The accident was completely pilot error. I was driving too fast on a narrow but familiar road. Received a call from my 17 year old daughter. Took the call. I had the top down and the car was so loud, I couldn't hear her. I'd cranked up the phone volume as much as possible and then then reached for my phone to see if I could increase the volume from there. crack! Poof of dust in the mirror and I knew I'd left the road. However... I didn't think I'd munged the car, just hit a branch of a tree that stuck out a bit at the apex of a corner. It wasn't until later while filling up at the gas station, I'd noticed my handiwork.
The car is in the shop now at a place that's jag/Al certified. The car is full PPF so I'm curious if the insurance will cover that. I'll keep you posted as the adventure unfolds.
When I was 16, my Dad would let me wash and wax his 1970 Buick Skylark on summer Sundays and then let me drive it for an hour or so. I always used to say that I was "taking it out to blow the dust off it", which was my couched way of say that I was going to see how fast his V8 could go. Well today, I decided to take my F-Type out to "blow the dust off of it" I could tell that a few of the ponies under the hood needed some exercise. As I was coming up on a few cars on a local toll road, I spotted the distinctive back side of a black F-Type (albeit with a fixed rear spoiler). I wasn't sure he saw me creeping up alongside, but as soon as we were side by side he gave me a wave at the same time as I was giving one to him. Alas, I was headed to the exit lane or we could have enjoyed a spirited but safe drive on our local Autobahn.
I hosed off most of the ashes that have been raining here and went to pick up hand made chocolate in Berkeley. Not "hand made" but truly hand made. The most entertaining stretch of road on the journey has been freshly repaved, but I was blocked by traffic in both directions. Still a successful run though. I have the chocolate.
I was hoping to change my differential oil but got side-tracked trying to rescue my mother's phone from a brief swim. The jury is out on that. I'd have more confidence if I'd had a pentalobe TS1 0.8mm screwdriver but alas, no such luck.
