I saw a gorgeous F-Type recently, and took this blurry photo of it. The color is amazing, and I love the rear fascia. What year / generation F-Type is this?

 

Looks (apart from colour and rear spoiler) like my MY18 - not sure when they started colour-coding the bit under the exhaust pipes.

 

could be 2014 - 2018. I had my lower painted salsa red too for awhile. Then I got the CF piece and painted it black.

 

I believe 16’ was the year they went to the body colored rear valence, but it could be a black one that was painted. The taillights also appear to be 16/17 although I’ve only seen mine lit like once (I usually driving).

 

It is a 2016-2017 F-Type R. If you have a clearer picture of the license plate you can enter it on carfax.com and when it takes you to the report purchase option page it will tell you what year it is.

 

My 2014 V8s has the body colour paint on the rear also so that won’t date this particular vehicle. It’s impossible to narrow it down without seeing the nose. Too few changes have been made to the rear for it to be a definitive answer.

 

Coupes were not available in 2014. I have never seen the rear painted like that on a 2015. Could it have been painted? Sure, but not likely. On my device that looks like Firesand Orange. If so that color and my above observations narrow it down to 16-17 but like you said a front pic would helped. Tail lights to me look like pre-2018.

 

The Design Pack was offered at launch which includes the ‘body colored rear Venturi’. All I can say for sure it’s a Firesand coupe.

 

You forgot the V8 bit, unless someone else "did a Lance" and whacked a V8 exhaust on a V6.

 

Aside from being blurry, that is an awesome shot. Makes me a little proud that I drive a car like it.
