Default When did Firesand get removed as a colour option?

Looked to spec a new F Type to replace my lovely orange V6S but I saw Firesand was no longer available. Gutted!

Was this a change to MY2017?

It's a discontinued colour. No demand :-)

Dang. I love my Firesand. Didn't at first when I was looking but boy did it grow on me. Oh well. Makes it a little more rare I guess.

Salsa was discontinued before Firesand, and I think they're two of the most dramatic colors available on the F-type. Probably two of the least ordered as well...

Deleting IRR is a huge surprise as well.

It might be interesting to compare the original (2013?) F-Type colour chart with the MY2018 version, I suspect there are very few carry overs.

I seem to recall Ian Callum requiring at least one red in the palette - guess that's Caldera ?

I'll whip mine out when I get home. The 2014 brochure, that is...

I suspect many "traditional" jag owners prefer more conservative colors. The IRR is a great color, but very bright.

My dealer thought the FS would go fast because of the Giants. 300+ days later, I showed up and saved them. Lol.. Apparently it's considered gauche to drive a Jag that's the same color as the local sports team. Who knew?

I was told by a JLR rep recently that they just decided to standardize on the Land Rover palette.

Here are the colors that are in my 2014 brochure that are not in the 2017 brochure...

Salsa Red
Indigo
Stratus Grey
Satellite Grey
Lunar Grey
Black Amethyst

The 2017 palette is much more colorful.

Can you give us a list of the 2014 colours that are still in the 2017 (or 2018) brochure?

I went to the current website and it looks like the color option is dependent on the model. The were only 5 color options for the base 340hp but the higher spec'ed models still had the range. I note fire sand was still listed so don't know if the website is out of date

Its the same for the 2017 Range Rovers - the wider range of colors (both exterior and interior as well as wheels) are only available on the higher spec models and not the base. As was mentioned earlier on this thread looks like they are standardizing across the JLR brand.

Good way way to push people into a higher spec car, give a very limited set of options on the base model.

You can have any colour you want as long as it's black I think someone once said...
