Default Where to find a V6 S in manual in CA?

I just had my local dealer (Santa Monica) search for the V6 F-Type S in manual transmission and they said there aren't any. I have a hard time believing that since the manual is highly praised in the F-Type reviews... where could I try and find one?

I also asked the dealer if it would be possible to search in other states and transport the car, and he said it's difficult and ends up not being worth the money... true or is that a lazy answer?

Maybe not worth the money or trouble for him, as dealers "trade" cars.

Yes and no. If there's one out of state, it needs to be worth it for the dealer to arrange a dealer trade or buy it from that dealer. This is assuming that the other dealer is willing to give it up. If you offer the dealer to cover transport costs or they make a decent profit off of your deal they may do it.

From what I can recall from the most recent sales numbers, the take rate for manual FTYPE was less than 7%; meaning that dealers aren't exactly ordering them.

Good luck pal!

I search for many weeks, I consider myself lucky with finding this base and in my color of choice.

Your dealers sales department sucks. Make a deal directly with someone who has one on the lot.

Using Bakersfield (because it's central) as the center of a 500mi search:

I liked cargurus.com when I was looking because you could search by options and it also tells you how long it's been there.

I shopped my f type directly with 2-3 out of state dealers with not even a hesitation; they would arrange shipping, etc. and do it all the time. If it's a leftover and VIP, (purchased by dealer), still new, but warranty started then it's more of a hassle. Furthest dealer was 1300 miles, I think shipping was $800-1000 for that one depending on the carrier. My XF was shipped from 2 states away for $500 or so and arranged by my local dealer. Where there's a will......I'm in New York and shopped cars in Maryland, Florida and Tennessee. If the car is brand new, you shouldn't have to worry too much about seeing it, but you can jump a plane, train, or bus and drive it home. Great road trip! I do recall one dealer saying I had to sign papers in person, but they had a work around. I was close to cutting a deal on the Tennessee car. Bought a Jeep recently 3.5 hours away. Took the train. No need for assistance. Good luck.

Cars.com shows 12 manual F-Types in CA, 6 of them are S coupe or conv. And I'm sure that's not a complete list.
