Default White paint under the hood

Hi, what white paint do you buy to touch up the letters of “Jaguar” on the plastic cover on an F-Type S engine. I realize it gets very hot so was wondering what to use.

Thanks!

Hi-temp brake caliper paint should do the trick.
About 10 years ago I used a left over spray can of caliper paint to paint/highlight the raised lettering on the plastic engine cover (not a Jag) and ran it like that for years with zero problems.

Yes...but the letters are in silver, not white - so silver hi-temp paint.

Yep, go for silver. Also silver hi-temp paint is way more common than white.
The main hassle will probably be that whatever paint you get won't be a perfect colour match for the OEM paint so you will need to repaint all the lettering and not just one or two. The good news is then you can choose whatever colour you want!

The temperatures that high on the engine don’t come anywhere close to threatening standard paint. High temp paint is overkill.

Indeed. The cover is plastic. It'd melt before the paint were damaged.

Remove the cover entirely, it traps heat and makes engine bay plastics go brittle.

Agree...What he said....

Also agree, that the cover temp does not require High Temp Paint. I have used a laser thermometer on engine and even exhaust tips...Engine after a hefty run was still below 200 F...

The first thing is to make sure that the cover is firmly seated on the mounting pegs (on all 4 of them) on the engine. If it isn't it might indeed contact the bonnet/hood.

Bonnet also may need to be adjusted check to see if the wheel well lines of the bonnet are close to matching the bumper and fender lines
if they are below the mating panels good chance there is a rub going on.

also look at the surface under the bonnet you should be able to see where rubbing was happening.
