The Gran T is a major dissapointment to me, so much potential, great front end, side looks hideously long, and rear homely as well, and slow. For a 150k car its a major letdown imo. That new mc20 is one fine looking beast though. Wow.

My neighbor has a Gran Turismo now. He bought it a few years ago. Great sounding car and not bad looking in my opinion but they are slow or slower than I would expect.

I think you really need the opportunity to drive it hard to understand and that's hard to do on a test drive. I know I was almost disappointed when I first started driving mine home from the dealer, but then I slid that little toggle switch to Dynamic, punched the car and broke out into a huge stupid grin.

Split personalities that dynamic mode makes a huge difference. When I first got mine I kept wondering where was the pops and crackles that rawness. I didnt discover until the day later to put it in both dynamic and sport that changed the whole tune. Such fun

Default had three pporsches turbo

it all started with a76 turbo , very fun to drive and tested my talent , the next was a 86 turbo a little faster once i droped about 10 grand on go fast parts , and last an 01 twin tt took a lot of bucks to make it road worthy . well worth it love to drive on the twistys it was a great car . thinking of my safety i bought a f type . g great car but no fun on the twisty (no road feel)miss my p car days but love the f type style and comfort . it' 1000 lbs than the p car so it' s a real road burner .

Serious question that has not been asked in 5 years or so?

You guys run your cars without the dynamic or exhaust sports mode stuff? I've had two of these over a decade, and although the throttle band is so fun with a manual transmission, I simply don't understand these cars when not in the proper mode?

I've even thought of finding out how to program the car to just simply be in those modes so I didn't have to press it.

And nearly 100,000 mi over 10 years of this car I have been in non-dynamic and non-exhaust or whatever for maybe a mile LOL

When I am doing highway driving I do Dynamic and Sport mode. When I am doing non-highway driving I do driving mode sometimes with sport mode on. I like the split personality though.

With the 6MT the dynamic/sport more means less than with the 8AT. We get dynamic exhaust. which I put in the quieter mode when I'm cruising on the freeway but otherwise open. The configurable dynamic settings are suspension, steering, throttle. I have mine configured so throttle is always normal, and drive almost exclusively with suspension and steering in the sportier setting. Shift points and gear selection are entirely at the drivers discretion (assuming there is some discretion) at all times.

I had a 400 Sport as a courtesy car some years ago and tried out the different transmission modes, although I didn't put many miles on it at all. Full dynamic and sport on that was quite a hoot, and would likely encourage me to abandon any discretion I might otherwise have.

Okay I will be more refined and experiment a bit more. It's also makes me realize I actually don't think I've ever heard from somebody that owned the 4-cylinder.

Yes seeing the word 400 made me remember there was a four-cylinder. Dumb brain stuff LOL
