Default why do people drive crazy around an f type.

just got home from work. decided to take the jag. noticed how rash cars like mustangs, camaros drive near the f type. when i go in my daily driver (accord) it's all normal. i feel like other 'sports' cars feel like they have a point to prove around a nice car and therefore try driving fast, switching lanes etc.
have any of you guys noticed this? what do you do about it?

Happened to me once as well. I'm not a street racer. This kind of behavior befuddles me.

If I win, it's because I'm in a faster car. If they win, it's because they're in a faster car. Who cares either way?

As far as what to do about it, I would acknowledge the driver and maybe give a thumbs up so they don't think I'm being pompous. Nothing worse than someone thinking you're a snob even if you're just minding your own business. It could cause them to drive even more recklessly.

I'm usually going too fast to notice anyone else.

I frequently see these nuts driving recklessly when I check my rear view mirror.

Funny, when I go out driving with my brother in his Gallardo, he gets a ton of that but nobody really notices my f-Type. I haven't had that happen when alone yet, but I do think there is something "Special" about young mustang drivers for some reason.

of course they do, they're jealous that they're seeing a nicer classier more expensive car than theirs, and they resort to that type of behavior. I always say aloud to myself as I drive by one of them something like "yeah man! cool racing stripes dude! nice ford mustang man! cool $100 upgrade exhaust brah!!" Whats great about the f type is there's nothing you need to say or do, you just cruise on by and it speaks for itself.

It is kind of sad that 'playful' driving has so many penalties and consequences.

In the 80s we'd street race all the time and if pulled over the cop would often ask me to pour out my beer before driving off, with no ticket.

People today have no freedoms to let go and have fun. Even worse, they have no way of missing what they never had.

So true... but let's be honest. These kids aren't half the men 20 year olds back then were. Not mature enough.

For the most part I get the occasional "thumbs-up" or another sports type car pulls up along side to get a better look. I always appreciate those that are kind enough to extend their compliment in any way they choose.

However, every once in a while there is a jealous as**hole who will get on my tail about one foot away at 70 mph. I have to admit it's very hard to keep my cool as they could easily injure quite a few motorist pulling that stunt.

That may have been the case for you, but 20 years before that I had to walk 10 miles each way to school in 5 feet of snow uphill both ways.

It's the rusted out 1980s mini vans that want to race you you should be careful about. Ask me how I know.

From my scientific observations, it is less with the F Type than other cars. Try driving an M3/M4 and see what happens. The F Type is approaching a category where those in lesser cars tend to show respect instead of whipping out their dick and waving it at you.

Speaking of other cars, try a bright red Corvette and every idiot (and their entire family) wants to race. I've always looked at as the big dog/little dog thing... The little dog likes to yip and make all this noise to try and prove he is a big dog. While a big dog already knows he's a big dog and doesn't need to prove it.

At age 75 I'm rarely mistaken for a "Street-Racer", I've had that happen several times. I think the F-type is fairly rare and doesn't carry a lot of badges. They see it and don't know what it is and pull in close behind to look for a name.
I've occasionally done the same thing trying to identify a strange car.
