Does anyone know if the mirrors can be retracted by holding both mirror buttons simultaneously (if the dealer disables the automatic feature as suggested by Arne)? I could see not wanting them to do this automatically but still retaining the option for parking.

I am pretty shure they can, but that's from memory of what the dealer told me. It might also be mentioned in the users manual (don't have access to it from where I currently am).

According to my manual, pressing both mirror adjustment buttons simultaneously does fold the mirrors with ignition on and up to 5 minutes after ignition is off, but it doesn't work in my car.

It appears the '14 base car doesn't have power fold mirrors, although the manual suggests all cars do. They do manually fold.

I'm happy for the weight savings.

You might actually have the motors, just the switch is disabled. Lotus did that on the Evora. A $5 switch turned on a $450 option. Not sure if Jaguar would do the same but not out of the realm of possibility.
