Yeah, But Does Your Tire Manufacturer Do This?
While I am unfamiliar with what other tire manufacturers provide as far as warranties go—or am I interested—I thought you all might be interested in the Continental Tire Total Confidence Plan. Why you may ask?
I should begin by stating that my wife’s 2006 BMW 325xi Wagon, with sports suspension and 6-speed manual transmission, is the car (tire) in question but since the Total Confidence Plan applies to the tires which I have on my F-Type too…well…they [Continental Tire] deserve a shout-out IMO.
Unfortunately my wife curbed one of her wheels and took a smallish “slice” out of one of the tires. It was on the sidewall and since I would never risk her driving under that condition—regardless how small the risk might be—I had full intentions of buying 2 new tires. I looked back on when I purchased 4 brand new Continental Tires and remembered that it was earlier this year. Back in May to be exact. It was then that I remembered Continental’s brilliant Total Confidence Plan and lo and behold they covered the damage to that tire and replaced it free of charge (excluding mounting and balancing…but since Scarborough Jaguar Land Rover took excellent care of replacing the tire, they [Scarborough] didn’t even charge me for that! So, naturally, I “sprinkled” plenty of $20 bills around as my way of thanks. And I am always looking for a reason to pay it forward).
Which is the sole purpose of this post/thread.
Kudos to Continental Tire for manufacturing fantastic tires—the only tires on any of my cars—AND standing behind them (even if it’s my wife's fault). Shout-out too to Scarborough Jaguar Land Rover for being the best in the business.
