Exclamation Yet another part no. needed

Hi guys,

This part fell from my trunk where the tray string hangs from. I failed to find the part number, and the agent wanted to change the whole tray just to replace this part.

Can't help with the number, but surely the guy should have been changing the tailgate (to which the part is attached), not the tray, if he was really going that wild?

You's better start saving. It's nearly 1 UKP from the dealer .......

........ one of those rare times the trip will cost more than the part!

Insane though it seems - NO..

I went to test an F-TYPE before Christmas. One thing I wanted know was if the suitcase I take when touring would fit. As I was standing behind the vehicle talking to the saleman, the right hand parcel shelf cord snapped:

This must be a regular issue but it looks like a regular piece of nylon cord and shouldn't be hard to source a suitable replacement. The parcel shelf complete with 2 cords comes at a massive 421 UKP.

The cord doesn't appear to be a replaceable part - it's glued into the shelf. Mine snapped off when the shelf became jammed against the hatch when it slipped off the pegs. Replaced under warranty and also had the additional grommets fitted to prevent a recurrence.

the sales guy must've felt really bad!
It should be replaceable, it is a clip that sticks in the parcel tray, but agents make money of changing stuff in your car anyway, so why not.
