Okay, just so everyone knows to check this first before checking everything else. If you lose spark, Please check the damn Coil Resistor. My son's burned out after parking and attempting to start a few hours later. After a quick look over and deciding the fuel pump had failed, I had the car towed home. Then after replacing the fuel pump and ignition coil, and ignition amplifier, I discovered the damned coil resistor was burned out. I removed it and she started and ran great. This car has the electronic ignition and consequently, does NOT need the resistor which primarily was to keep the points from wearing out sooner. So, if I had read this info from someone else and had some troubleshooting advice it would have been zero cost to fix.
