Default 1996 XJR throttle adjustment

1996 Jaguar XJR throttle adjustment. If I use my scanner to see throttle % open at idle is at .8 or 800 RPM, wide open throttle 78%. If I adjust WOT to 100% using the adjustment in the cable assembly my idle goes to 18% reving the engine to 1800 rpm. I can't find the sweet spot .8 and 100%. What am I doing wrong? is there a better way to adjust WOT as the performance of the car is poor for a supercharged engine.

First you have to get the two throttle cables and the TRACS unit adjusted. I had posted the procedure many moons ago:

here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...94/#post335715

Then you might likely have to modify the stud under the throttle pedal that holds the trans kickdown switch. I usually remove it, and fabricate a replacement with a bolt that I cut the head off of. Then use a couple of nuts as jamb nuts to work like the hex body of the stud you took out. [only shorter] That way you can extent the travel of the pedal for a full stroke on the throttle body cable.

Good luck!
