2000 Lincoln LS 3.9 (4.0 Jag)timing chain questions
Hey all, from what I understand the 3.9 in my LS is the same 4.0 Jag engine. I need to replace the main timing chain rails and have read the original ones are plastic and the new style are metal. Are the OE rails plastic wrapped around a metal core?? My rails are just this. I am wondering if the rails have already been updated once. Any and all help would be appreciated.

The LS engine is SIMILAR but NOT the same.
LS engines lack VVT.
The primary chain guides are plastic covered steel.
The secondary tensioners are aluminum body units with plastic 'slippers'.
