Not a surprise, in the day jaguar used what colours they could get ! This might not be the colour selected by the designer years previous........ Using a bit of ingenuity and a dash of guesswork, you can usually find out what is going on. Have you a problem with the wiring ?

Osborn, take a look at the door sticker and find out when your car was made. You may find that if you are near the end of a year or the beginning of a year, you may have that years wiring harness in your car. Lets say your car was manufactured in January 2010, you may actually have a 2009 wiring harness in your car since they were using up left overs from the previous year. Kinda like if they are switching over to a new body style or making major updates, they will start incorporating them into the older cars when they run out of say motors or wiring harnesses. This is why you will find that Jaguar will specify that parts are good for VINs XXXXXXX to YYYYYYY, if you don't fall into that range, even if you have the same year car as these ones, the part is not going to work for you. They made some change that was first incorporated on to car XXXXXX and the final car to get that series of changes was YYYYYYYY.

A logical explanation for the discrepancy but difficult to check because UK vehicles don't have the Manufactured Date on the door sticker or anywhere else on the vehicle:

The Date Registered appears on the V5C Registration Document but this can be weeks or months after the actual date the vehicle left the production line.

i am trying to change the seats in a 2007 model for ones from a 2010. I have the wiring diagrams for both years and they are the same. The dealer insists that there are no other diagrams even for later models. 32 wires that do not match is a bit too difficult for trial and error.

Have you got the 10' seats? and have they got the same functions, similar in all ways to the 07' set?
The airbag and occupancy sensors would be the important matches, motor drives are the simple ones.
Have the 10's got the same connectors? just different colours?
