2016 Jaguar phone data problems
Kenharw1, the short answer, no. Now, could you get an aftermarket radio with 4G/5G and wire it into the car, it is possible. But, the amount of work to make that happen as most Jaguars have lots of stuff built into the radio that control other things in the car that finding something that has all this capability is hard to do. There is one option called "Tesla screen" that if you do a search on the forums, you will find where people have done this to their cars. In short, it replaces your radio and your A/C controls with a large "tesla style" screen. That may not be your cup of tea. But, that would be the nearest thing you could do. But, this takes a lot of programming as you have to find the various addresses to all the controls in the car and set them up inside the radio to regain control of say the heat, A/C, seat heaters, etc.
Thanks, Thermo. Guess I will continue using my android phone mounted on a windshield suction cup holder for traffic updates. I guess Jaguar considers 2016 as the dark ages. BTW, my XJL has only 36,000 miles on it.

Ken, I hear you. My car is also a 2016 and I pondered getting some sort of data plan, but the more I looked into it, the more money it was going to cost and I figured it was more money than I would see benefit from. So, I gave up on the whole project.
