Default My final project: 2016

Some forum members have asked what's going on there.

Well, I have collected a photo library:
savirta's Library | Photobucket

Targets for 2016:

1/4mile 11.3 or better
Standing mile: 300km/h+ ( 186Mph+ )

VERY impressive !
I have found the front end gets very floaty at speeds over 135mph. Downright scary if any crosswind or road undulations.
What are you doing to increase front downforce at your projected speeds?

Yes, standing mile 300km/h is bigger challenge than 1/4mile at 11.3. Needs big power and bigger tire size since with the current tires max is just 284km/h - or rpm limiter up to 6600. So far I have driven officially 240km/h. Driveability was still quite ok. Arden front spoiler could be one way to increase downforce. Stiffer spring/shocks kit is waiting for installation.

Looks very nice! Did you changed the vales or seats?
300 is a reachable project in my eyes, but it will be "interesting" to drive 😂

Is there somebody who could delimit our cars, except Arden?

Stock valves, multi angle seat job. Airfield tracks are 60m wide and very flat - and top speed is just a few seconds when we are talking about standing mile events. Long term autobahn driving at that speed would be another story....

240km/h run from 14:29 :

Added some new photos to the library. There have been extra delays with several small things needed to resolve with quite complex combination. Waiting for first start up....

Fuel rails and charge coolers needed some modifications to be fitted to the right places. The secondary plan was making new custom rails, but why not use orginal stainless steel rails since it's the only reliable material in this case. Fuel hoses are changed to E85 resistant ones. When the parts are back sometime next week the rest task should be quite easy. "knocking the wood"

Fuel rails and coolers are ready. Needed almost ten small mods to the 4.2 rails - from returnless to return piped. Dampers were also totally removed since they are known to be leaking parts and not needed when we have return line. The engine jumps into the bay early next week.

The first startup was so close yesterday afternoon...tons of fitting problems resolved and then because of some misunderstandings the guys realised that newer style AJ27/AJ33 camshaft position sensor's timing ring is still there and it does not work with AJ26 ECU. They tried to take old stylish one from the old stock intake camshaft but it was really jammed. Needs some heating or new $5 part from the factory. 99.95% done. Midnight sun holidays here today and everything is closed so have to wait until next week. Cheers
