Exclamation 2017 F-Pace Reverse Traffic Detection Not Available/Infotainment not working

I had my final warranty service in July of this year. Immediately after getting my car back with a clean bill of health my car started throwing ‘Reverse Traffic Detection Not Available’ errors sporadically along with my Infotainment not working. Sometimes the infotainment would boot right up. Other times it would take a minute or two. And yet other times it wouldn’t boot up at all. Took my car back in to get it looked at and the techs saw the errors but couldn’t figure out why it was throwing the errors or what was going on other then it is related to the rear camera. I have an appointment next week to leave it at the dealership to do a more thorough diagnosis with Jaguar headquarters which I’m told will take a few weeks. As my car is now out of warranty I have been told that a Goodwill case will be started for me because this has happened so close to the expiration of my warranty. I think something may have happened during the last service in July as I have never received this error before.

I have read a similar thread in here where this issue may be related to loose/faulty wiring or a faulty camera module.

I wonder if anyone else has had this error message and if so what was the ultimate determination and solution? Also, has anyone filed a Goodwill case before and if so how was the experience?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Welcome to the forums CAJAGFPACE,

I see you have also asked this question in a thread F-Type forum on a similar topic. Jaguar models often have similarities but it can be misleading to assume they are identical. The place for F-Pace technical questions is F-Pace forum:

There are several possible causes and troubleshooting the issue will require a session on JLR Pathfinder diagnostics to determine relevant error codes. This will take a few hours at the most and certainly not a few weeks. If parts are required (and Jaguar Dealers have long been in the business of replacing rather than repairing faulty components) they could take weeks to obtain if presently unavailable. Many parts, especially electronic, disappeared from JLF inventory during the pandemic.

I'll leave it to our US members to advise on Warranty (not to be confused with complimentary included services) cover. I know the terms are considerably more generous in the US than in Europe and previous posts on that topic suggest this issue could be covered rather than requiring any 'goodwill' on the part of the dealer.
