2017 XE
Here’s a puzzle, my 86 year old mom owns a 2017 XE. We’ve just settled her into an assisted living complex with a heated garage. The garage door opener is activated by a magnetic type strip that is stuck to the inside of the windshield, or at least it is supposed to. If the strip is anywhere inside the car or even stuck to the outside it will not activate the garage door opener. I’ve had to tape it to a yardstick so it can be held outside the window away from the car. If at least a few feet away from the car it will work. The maintenance man at the facility has never seen this before with any other cars, including Porsche, BMW, other high sports type vehicles. Only in her Jaguar will this door opening activation strip not work. I suppose there is something unique about the Jaguar that creates some interruption in the activation signal. Does anyone out there have any clues, thoughts, or come across anything like this?
I bought a pre-owned Jaguar and they had their badge code on the headlights, at first I assumed it was the headlights part number but was informed by other forum members that many jag owners install the codes on the headlights because it works best for them in that way. maybe attempt the same and get a good outcome. best of luck mate! if your interested in seeing where exactly they installed this at you can have a look in my "statistics" and under "find all threads" you'll see my post say "headlightbulbs?"
