Can anyone lead me in the right direction. I put the key in the door cylinder. Try to tun the key to unlock the door, but it does not turn for the lock to unlock. Can’t open the door. Any clue on what I can do ?

1. it's Vanden Plas - coachbuilders founded in Brussels in 1870 which, after several take-overs, eventually belonged to Jaguar.
2. you'll get more chance of members with the same model seeing your question if you post it in XJ40 forum.

Also add detail on whether you can get into the vehicle from one of the other doors. Very different techniques required if you are totally locked out or can get at the door from inside.
