Default All data diy

Some of the gang here have mentioned www.alldatadiy.com . I looked at their site and found that they have a lot of service bulletins listed for the 2004 XJ8 like mine. Those bulletins seem to address a lot of problems that people ask about here. However in looking at the sample service manuals that they show, I am remined of what is on the JTIS CD from Jaguar. I don't need something that tells me to turn off the engine as step #1 in removing the radiator. (there was a fix-it book for VW's that was that way). Also, I can look at the throttle body and see how to remove it.

QUESTION: What is your experience with this site. Did you find it worthwhile? Would you subscribe again? Did you find a better site?

I have found it well worth the pittance they charge. It is clearly not comprehensive, but quite adequately addresses most shade tree type issues. Not much else out there for reference other than JTIS, that I have found.
Cheers!

I have been using alldatadiy for many years on many different vehicles. I like the site and recommend it to anyone that DIY's. I took the 5 year plan on the Jaguar and I am glad I did!

For those of us who don't "turn wrenches" on anything with more than a small degree of difficulty, it's a great source of info when you are checking on what possible causes of problems are and what the labor to fix them should be. Especially helpful are the TSBs as they lead to probable causes. For $14.95 a car, I use AllData for all our vehicles.

I know it makes my mechanic think I'm sticking my nose in to deep but it's a great tool in itself. It's saved me a few times.

I've subscribed to AllDataDIY for years and do recommend it. It is certainly not a replacement for for a Jaguar factory service manual, but it's a good start, especially for common issues. It isn't as comprehensive as a Haynes manual or certainly the JTIS, but it's up-to-date, covers a lot, and will warn you of all TSBs. The price is great for the information you get, and they give you a discount for multiple cars. I've even added a friend's car before when he needed help diagnosing an issue with his car. You just can't go wrong for the price!
