Tonight I went out to the garage, and used some alcohol on the contacts to the alternator, and fired it up!
I ran the car for 15 minutes and it didn't run the battery down and STALL in 3 minutes like the other times I started the car after the battery light started coming on!
The battery light still comes on and the needle is in the red but the car didn't stall this time!
What is going on?
Is it just an alternator on it's way out and works intermittently?
I checked all the other things I could, the belts are fairly new, no oil on them seem as tight as the other belts.
Now i am just confused! The alternator is only 4 years old!
