As anyone else had problems with dirt/staining of the rear seats and headlner?

I recently purchased an 07 XK vert. While cleaning the interior , I noticed a black film on the rear seats and a stain on the headliner in the passenger side back corner.

The dealer, of course, says it is simply road dirt but I'm not sure I believe that.

Maybe some dirt on the seats, but I've never seen any car have the headliner stained like this one. Also the seat belts are stained and if you move the belts , you can see a clear outline where they sat

I'm wondering if it could be brake dust residue, but that would indicate to me either a design or manufacturing defect

Also, the car is usually driven with top down, side windows up. When the top is up, all windows are closed

any help and/or suggestions are appreciated
