Default Braking system update

Hi folks, some of you will remember a post I put up about problems I had with my brakes on my x type, https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...system-170234/ and thanks for your input.

I went through your suggestions such as replacing -

brake servo valve and hose.

checking for seized callipers, replaced one on the rear.

Check all hoses for leaks.

But I still get this hard brake feeling on the pedal, I don't get it all the time, but is intermitting.

My mechanic says that it could be the brake booster pump.
I purchased one but it seems the wrong one, there are seemingly two types.
The one I bought

The other type

I know the easy way to tell would be to take the one of the car and compare them, but I haven't got to that stage yet.

Jaguar parts department state the parts number as c2s31058 does anyone know if the part in the second image is the part I'm looking for ?

Also how difficult is it to fit?

Car is 2005/6 2.0 d sport

Thanks for your time folks.
Scott

Hopefully a moderator will figure WHICH car forum this belongs in.
