Default Cleaning Hood Insulation

We just finished a complete repaint on our XK8 and it looks very good, but the hood insulation while in great shape is fairly dirty but not really seriously stained (I think). How should the insulation be treated (I was going to just order a new one but getting on to $800.00 Canadian is out of the question.) I sure could us some input on this.

Hi Ian,
good question, perhaps some of the detailers out there may help.
I too have detailed my engine bay and it usually looks pretty good, the bonnet / hood liner was a little dirty ( nothing too bad )

I simply used a spray bottle of APC ( All purpose Cleaner ) sprayed the affected area and wiped down with an old microfiber, washing this and rinsing out as required.
It shouldn't take more than perhaps 30 mins and should look almost as good as new once completed.

I guess you could always try a steam cleaner too for any stubborn stains
