Default Coupe thumping noises when turning left

Just bought a 2008 Jaguar XKR with 42k miles and really happy with it. I did read the issues that pop up but the forum really gave me some confidence. I'm super impressed with the passion and selfless help. When I turn left I hear like a thump, thump and feels like the wheel locks and then releases. I checked power steering fluid and it was low but in the proper range so I added some. Still have the noise though. Never had this noise and it's really hard to describe. It's not grinding, cracking but feels like brakes lock up and then quickly release or something binds up momentarily and then releases quickly.

Welcome to the forums Henry,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to XK8/XKR forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Ackerman (angle ) refers to the different diameter circles covered by the inner and outer wheels on a turn . So as the correct Ackerman angle is built into the suspension I dont see how that affects it.

The power steering fluid was low so I topped it off and it took a few days but the noise has stopped. Thanks for all the help.
