Default Door locks after unlocking without key in ignition

I have used the key fob to unlock doors, but they automatically lock if I don't race to enter vehicle. Once inside, if u unlock manually, it again automatically locks before inserting key into ignition.
How do I fix this issue?

WELCOME to the real world of motoring.

Agreed, we dont mind read too well now that we are older and the teenagers have left the building.

If its an S Type, go individually to EACH door and work the plastic locking tab just above the actual handle, on the inside obviously.

Our Black one does it sometimes, its a female thing I am sure, and I got locked out a long time ago. Spare key, into it, ALL windows down, then as mentioned did the tab thing, and the LHF (passengers down here) was a tad sticky, and once I worked it, all was sweet. Must go and fix that one of these days. Previous owner replaced the LHF window regulator, so I bet something is mis-aligned.

If all the door locks/latches are working properly, use a different key and take that one with the remote away from the vehicle. I've seen the transmitter short out and keep trying to relock the vehicle.
