Red face facia panels/dash - RESOLVED

good morning forum browsers can any one tell me why on a 1984 ser3 sov why the lower dash panels came out in metal to look like wood and where could I get some from or can I use wooden ones.

I'm afraid I don't understand the question.

Are you talking about the panel above the radio, by chance? It's metal with a wood veneer.

doug on my car where the computer for fuel/distance travelled etc is metal with veneer below another panel with the same and where the gear shift is its the same metal with veneer

I had Series I and Series II then jumped straight to XJ40 so I can only add a UK spec Series III dashboard photo here to perhaps aid identification of the precise panel.

The computer and the four push-push switches are all in the same panel.....one piece.

Surprised to hear that your '84 has the wood panel at the console/gearshift....as that's typically seen on '86-87 cars.

Anyhow, I would try British Autowood or Paul's Jaguar for replacements. Both USA outfits but I'm sure they'd ship overseas.

Or Ebay for good used ones, perhaps?
