Fuel line supplying fuel sending unit brokene
.OOOPS! My apologies...I have a 2004 xj8 with 231,000 miles and she still purrs like a newborn kitten...however, long story short, the plastic connector on the fuel sending unit (, beneath the rear passenger side seat) had some cracks and trying to skimp on some $$, I broke off the fuel line that connects to said unit....now, when I start the car, an almighty Torrent of fuel comes swishing down the front end of the fuel tank. I jack up th rear end took of the plastic undercarriage shield and with a flashlight, I think I can see the one broken end (to the left upper corner front edge of the tank) but can't see or feel the other end if the broken line .ws hoping I could just thread a new lone and clamp where necessary but apparently I've got to drop the subframe in order to drop the tank to access said line? REALLY? my local shop says it's gonna take ,six hours just to drop the tank and he wants $1100 just to start the job....looks like I'll be taking an Uber for a while ..Any suggestions? Any literature available to educate me more in this subject? What a bummer...I SHOULD HAVE NEVER MESSED ROUND WITH THE LINE!
