Default Help from Canadians, Command Start wiring diagram

Hello,

I have a Canadian market 1996 XJR that I'm slowly getting sorted. Turns out it has a Command Start remote start system model CS1700. It does not however have the remotes that come with the remote start system. The two Jaguar remotes do not work either.

I've searched for a wiring diagram/installation instructions to no avail. I joined a Canadian forum but they won't let me post for some reason. On that forum there were people asking the same question years ago and someone was sending the info.

My intention would be to use the wiring diagram to assist in installing a new modern remote start system. Or if that's not possible get it disconnected and the original jag remotes working.

Can anyone help?

Avanti357, unfortunately, you are most likely not going to find any useful information about the wiring for this module online. The basis behind this is simple, do you want the wiring diagram for anyone to figure out how to bypass your alarm available to anyone to look at? NO. So, these security systems purposely keep their information offline. Now, based on the age of the device, you may have a bit more "luxury" in obtaining information from the company itself.

I would start with calling the phone number in this link (Contact information for Car Systems Installation Toronto) and talking with a service tech and seeing what they can do for you. That person may be able to send you a wiring diagram and/or some remotes to make the system work. Not sure if you are looking to keep the system or simply remove it from the car. They may ask for new photos with some sort of proof (ie, a sticky in the picture with a special word that only the two of you know). That way they can get proof that you own said device. From there, see what they will be willing to offer/give to you.

The more difficult path (granted, may be the better path depending on your wiring skills) is to have the car taken to a car stereo shop and ask them to remove the system. Hopefully the shop has a working relationship with CSI and therefore has the proven credentials already and then the shop can then get the diagrams to undo the system. What that is going to cost, I am not sure. But, being hit with a $400 bill (CDN) would not surprise me as these are purposely installed in such a way to be hard to undo/bypass.

Well it is an old unit BUT seems to have been a quality one in it's day?
Now your in a bit of luck as they are still in business and it would be worth a quick call/E-Mail to see if they can provide anything? From looking at their website I think it's a long shot?
