Default Help navigating XK electrical guide

Dear experts. I am learning to navigate the XK electrical guide in order to do a little troubleshooting. What a great resource!

I have a quick question I am hoping an experienced person can help me out with.

First - what does "Cav", as shown below in the connector index section of the electrical guide stand for? I initially though "Cavity" (as in location), but that does not seem right as the same "Cav" number is used with different locations.

I have searched the forums, and found the common Jag acronyms - but "Cav" does not seem to be referenced. I also searched the entire electrical guide, and I see no definition for it. My apologies if it is more obvious than it seems to me.

Thank you all in advance!

I would guess cavities or MAX number of pins in the connector. A 28 pin connector might only have 23 pins/wires but 28 cavities?

Thanks Bob! You'd think they would make it more obvious in the manual. Your guess seems reasonable. I'll see if I can look up the connector and correlate against the number of wires in it to see if they match the numbers.

All the best -
