Default JTIS and Windows 10

I bought the JTIS CD off eBay and it won't work on Windows 10. I've tried to run it in Win 98 mode to no avail. I have searched and read a number of threads on this topic, but nothing so far regarding Windows 10. Any help will be appreciated, but keep it pretty simple. I found lots of stuff about exe and media fire but it looked like Greek to me! Thanks

It worked on Windows 8.1 I couldn't get it to install on Windows 10. I put on a Windows 7 pc.

I found a PDF file of the entire JTIS on this site. Unfortunately I have no idea how to link to it, but if you go to google and search for jtis pdf it will be the first one. I find the forum's search tools to be lacking, but Google will find it.

If you have JTIS working on Windows 8.1 there is no reason for the upgrade to Windows 10 to stop it.

I was running JTIS (and JEPC) on Windows 10 but have reverted to Windows 8.1 as I don't like to have my laptop spending half its time sending data to and from Microsoft. The 'downgrade' was also trouble free and everything works again on 8.1

It won't run on windows 10 because Microsoft DAO 3.5 won't install on Windows 10. JTIS itself will run but as soon as you try to access any data it crashes.

A VM (virtual machine) should work.

The PDF is probably easier.

Is there a replacement for Microsoft DAO 3.5 that will install on Windows 10?

So it could be said that the DAO is DOA?

It could also be said that Windows 10 sucks. Nothing like having to replace your old Windows 7 desktop with a new desktop that runs Windows 10 and then having to deal with 25% of the stuff you were accustomed to doing not working properly anymore....

I work in IT, and this is the FIRST program that I've come across that no longer works in Windows 10 that worked in Windows 8.x (well, other than AOL, which is actually more of a virus than a program, and even that's been updated to be compatible).

The fact is, DAO has been outdated for over 15 years. If Jaguar wasn't too lazy to update JTIS to something that runs on modern 64 bit systems and uses a supported data access backbone (such as ADO), we wouldn't have any issues.

Jaguar never intended JTIS to be released to the public, so count your blessings that it even worked on Win7.

If you dig a little deeper into the forum you will find JTIS can run in Windows 10:

Jaguar haven't used CD distributed JTIS since 2005 when it was superseded by the online TOPlx system.

TOPlx is available to anyone who is prepared to pay by the hour, day, week, month or year:

Glad to hear it. I was just responding because someone seemed to think it was Microsoft's fault that the old version had issues running on computers and operating systems that weren't even thought of when it was originally released. TOPIx looks great, but probably also expensive.

Hi, I was having the same problem and found the solution. You must register the DOA350.dll file with Windows, then it all works, see below:-

Add DOA350.dll to the c:windows/system32 and c:windows/SysWOW64 directories

You must then register DOA350.dll by opening a command prompt (CMD in start menu) and type regsvr32 dao350.dll
