Paint Correction
So I went to a car wash place in another state while I was picking up my son and got a car wash. I saw that they offered a variety of detailing work, towel dried your car and had bays they used for interior detailing and the such and asked if they did paint correction. The owner said, they have 1 employee who does that work and its $50 an hour and would take approximately 8 hours to do. He said they would wash the car first, clay it, then cut in 2 phases and finally wax it.
I've never had paint correction done before but I thought that seemed rather inexpensive, anyone pay for this type of service before or know what the rate for such work should be from a reputable shop? The only thing that didn't scare me right away is the guy said it would be an 8 hour process and to me that sounds about accurate. Yet is $50 an hour really enough to pay someone for this service? I don't want to pass up a good deal, but I also don't want my paint ruined to save a couple hundred bucks either.
To clarify he did look the car over and checked out the paint before he said it would take 8 hours, so I'm assuming he believes only minor correction needs to be done?

Dregun,
I have had paint correction done on my 2017 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid, and I intend to have it done on my newly acquired 2013 XKR as soon as we're able to get back to a semblance of normal due to this Coronavirus situation.
I had my Q50 ceramic coated at the same place, and will get my XKR done, as well. The paint correction and ceramic coating cost $1400, so I think $400 for just the paint correction is a high price. Just my opinion. I have been extremely happy with the ceramic coating on my Infiniti and can't wait to get it on the XKR.

Tyger,
Thanks for the input, I have yet to pull the trigger on paint correction as I've been holding off until better weather since it's almost spring now. I've thought about attempting it myself, buying the tools and so forth, yet if I'm worried about paying someone too little do I think I would be better or could charge someone more? Gotta be humble about that. I'd love to get the ceramic coat as well, I've seen videos where the reflection is so mirror like it made my head spin.
