Hello, I'm L.S.G. new here and in desperate need of someone in or near Victorville Calif. who has ,or has access to a WDS for a 2000 XJ8 I have serious electrical issues and need to pin point the root cause(s) I'm on a fixed disability income but could possibly make payments for some legit assistance. Please and Thank You for any help offered it's my girl's car she has cancer and really needs this car as our 2002 merc sable just died with 216000 miles on it and the jag only has 90000 runs great except these difficult to determine electrical issues that can only be found really.... with a WDS or even the new software for off the shelf lab tops,... so again thank you and my apologies for sounding so needy....... Most of the electrical gremlins are well known and documented here on the forum. Please describe what electrical problems you are having and a little info about when they occur and we can give it a go at advising for repair and trouble shooting.

 

What is a WDS?

 

WDS = Worldwide Diagnostic System. The forerunner of IDS ( Integrated Diagnostic System ) and SDD (Symptom Driven Diagnostics).

WDS was a kind of electronic combination of a ouija board and a crystal ball with a slightly lower success rate.

they are too numerous but I'll try
1. windows do not work with door panel switches
2. mirrors and steering column do not work with their switches
3. when using the remote no longer hear chirp when locking
there are other issues that is why I believe a proper diagnostics via he WDS or IDS is what will help pin point the issue before replacing multiple parts ?
I'm guessing two or more modules or the ecm itself ? not sure how I could test these with out WDS or IDS ???
