Default Question for speed drivers.

Hello, I am just curious I have mapped Jaguar XJ 2016 3.0 v6 supercharged 410hp 300kw without limiter. Is it possible to hit 300 km/hod?

Adrian Ady, atleast from a power point of view, you should be good for up to about 200 MPH (316 km/h). So, now the question comes whether the gearing is there for you. This is where a little bit of math will answer that for you. So, in short, if your car will hit 100 km/h by the time you hit 1500 RPM, then you will be able to hit 300 km/h. If you are up around say 1800 RPM at 100 km/h, then you are going to be limited based on engine RPM. This is all based on what I see in the image where you are rev limited to 4500 RPM.

The power you need to get to certain speed depends on primarily frontal area x drag coefficient x velocity (squared)

I would very much doubt that 410 bhp would get you in excess of 180mph (300 kph is 186mph).

If you did have sufficient power and the gearing was correct then you would have to remove the speed limiter that many cars including Jaguar have set up in the pcm (ecu)

I agree. As you increase speed the air resistance increases exponentially and it takes a lot more power to go faster to overcome the aero effects.

I doubt 400hp with the weight of the car and its aerodynamics and a 4500 rpm redline will get you anywhere near 315 kph.

I have a 707 hp hellcat and it just barely makes it there
