Hi all,

Hoping someone may be able to help. I have installed an Audio Control Module to my 2006 XK X150 and need to enable it.

I have the Mongoose cable and all the software working ok, I have hooked up a beefy charger to get the battery up above 12.5V and can get as far as starting the routine for enabling the audio module.

However whilst it is running, I get pop ups requesting to download something (more config files I think) to a USB but I can’t get it to accept a location to download to.

Anyone come across this and got past it?

Are you sure? I added the ACM to my old 2005 STR and that did not require SDD and everything just plugged in and worked?

The battery charger will not work for programming. It is a good way to screw up the car. Now if just reading codes I think that would be fine.
The SDD takes a high current LOW RIPPLE DC power supply with a minimum of 50A capacity. NOT a battery charger! Also keep the laptop plugged in to AC at all times. Can't have any power problems or SDD will fail.

Yes do some searches as the SDD software is all over the place usually is free and many different versions are available.

I believe this can happen when you have an older fixed version of SDD and one or more of the modules in the car was previously updated from a later version of SDD.

I suggest reposting this in the XK (X150) forum. Some of the guys there might be of further assistance.

Can you give a few more details on what you installed and what happened?
What version of SDD? Where did you get it?
The UK Jaguar forum has complete image files available which is about the easiest way I know to install it. Also be aware SDD does not play well with other software. Most of us either use a dedicated laptop running nothing else or some have had luck running it on a virtual machine.
