I used to use PDU (back-in-the-day) to determine VCATS suffix for control modules for the part dept. if the label in the boot was obliterated. I found the ECM part number/suffix in the X308 with IDS but I don't remember how to find other modules or if I used PDU???

I have a car that was damaged and the VCATS label is GONE. I want to document all the modules part numbers and suffix for reference.

I tried all the places I found on IDS but the ECM was the only one shown.

I did not try WDS yet but the earliest version I have is something like 21.
I might GHOST a HDD and install it if I have to.

Anyone remember if the modules part numbers can be retrieved with WDS, IDS?????

As far as WDS goes, I couldn't help you there as I'm not at the same site as the workshop anymore.


In regards to IDS, its pretty close to SDD. I remember having to do this on a vehicle before, and went through the tab that says " Network Integrity ". It gives module information, part number, software numbers, etc. As I manage PDI center now for my dealership, I don't have any interaction with IDS anymore. Hopefully this has helped in some way.

I just used IDS (version 118.5) to read the modules on a 2007 S-Type 3.0.
Setup and Configuration__Special Applications__Read Control Module Information.

All module part numbers and software versions.

No such access to X100 or X308 that I can find.
