using google, I found some posts with someone writing engineeringmode pass is just 2008.. .

Is this correct for some former version of these tools ?
Does anyone know the version where it's applicable ?

 

Not so in IDS/SDD to the best of my knowledge.

 

There is the knowledge how to Enbale Engineering Mode on WDS. It only provides (AFAIK for XK8) setting ECM/ECU "Channels" data. Seems so deep and factory only level knowledge required.Likely people just would brick their cars while messing around. So I don't release exact information how it can be done.

Engineering mode makes possible to change km/MILES on ODO to bigger numbers also. Useful if need to change instrument pack with lower numbers. Change of Instrument Pack might need programming for which WDS defice and software is good too.
