Default Windows 8 and JTIS

My apologies to the Mods as I'm sure this isn't the right place for this (not quite sure where is) but I have just bought a new laptop running Win 8 and I want to install JTIS and the EPC onto it. I have both these programs running on my old Win 7 laptop with no probs. Can these run on Win 8 and if so how to install them?
I have searched for info on this, but haven't been able to find anything.
Thanks,
Andy

Andy,

I've moved this to General Tech Help where there's more chance of members from across all the tech sections seeing it and therefore someone else running Windows 8 responding.

Looks like forum member JoukoN in Finland has been able to successful installed JTIS21 on his Windows 8 64 bit desktop PC and on his Windows 8 32 bit laptop PC.

He used the following commands to register DAO350.dll:

64 bit version:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\DAO\dao350.dll"

32 bit version:
C:\Windows\System32\regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\DAO\dao350.dll"

Although he did not have any security system issues, you should:
Create a new folder (C:\DAO) and download DAO350.dll file into the C:\DAO folder, the use the following command lines to make sure that you will be sucessful:

64 bit version:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\regsvr32.exe "C:\DAO\dao350.dll"

32 bit version:
C:\Windows\System32\regsvr32.exe "C:\DAO\dao350.dll"

Here is the weblink link to forum member JoukoN thread - (JTIS21 and Windows 8):

Default Works well

Yes, I can confirm that both JTIS and JEPC are still working problem free in Win 8

I have at last got round to installing JTIS on my 64 Bit Win 8 lap top, and my thanks to to every one who helped. It all seems to be running fine with no problems found.

Andy,

That's more of an endorsement for JTIS than for Windows 8.

Graham, I agree completely. The first time I used it, it took me half an hour just to figure out how to turn the bloody thing off! It is in my eyes, the most counter intuitive system I have ever come across. With hindsight, I wish I had looked more closely at a Mac system.

Micro$oft are bringing out update 8.1 on Oct 17 I believe, this may help with us old win95 - Win 7 Ludites cope with the new OS.

Its a free update.

I got JEPC running on Windows 8. I have JTIS on a CD. I tried to install but it failed. I will try again with JoukoN's instructions.
