Default Wire wheels - please advise

Good afternoon to all,

I am restoring a 1993 Double Six Daimler in Italy and I want to put wire wheels on. I searched this forum for wire wheels and found only 5 threads. One mentioned the risks of failure if driven hard around corners or off traffic lights. In my case this will be used as a family, holiday, car: no stress. I was hoping to find advice about wheel hubs, centre caps (large nut or 3 bar nut) and which are the best brands. One post mentions the brand Dayton.

Questions:
  1. Can these wheels use the centre lock hubcap, or must the 4 (5?) studs remain visible?
  2. Are both hexagonal or hectagonal hubcaps, and 3 bar hubcaps, available? Do any of these hubcaps have the Daimler logo?
  3. What are the top 2 o3 wire wheels brands?
Any drawbacks? Any comments? Thanks in advance for sharing your time and expertise

Tommaso

I sold my wire wheels because they were too heavy, and I didn't want to have to **** around with the spokes all the time!
