Wire Wheels
#2
Not for me!
I wouldn't do it, even if knock-off or bolt-on wire wheels were readily available and reasonably priced.
I had Dayton knock-off wire wheels on my 1960 Corvette (sold in 2002). Although they looked great, they required a heavy cast iron adapter that bolted onto each brake drum. That adapter had a threaded splined shaft for the wire wheel to slide onto and be secured with the chrome knock-off 3-ear spinner cap. The wire wheels were much heavier than stock, in addition to the adapters.
I think that all that additional unsprung weight would adversely affect the ride and handling of an X150.
I doubt that the Eagle uses adapters. It probably has custom hubs and wheels at that price.
